When Curtis Novak announced his re-issue of the Bill Lawrence designed pickups used in the Gibson “G3” Grabber basses from the 70s, I knew what I had to do…. The Lincoln L3!!!
We used an Alder body and a Maple neck and board to keep that classic Grabber look. The pickups are wired to original spec with a 3-way toggle in the “Buck-and-a-half” schema. In the 1st position you get the Bridge and Middle pickups. Position 2 is all 3 pickups. Position 3 is the Middle and Neck. The bass has all the growl and bite of the old G3 basses… go ahead, you know you want to play some Green Day on this thing!
“The Lincoln began as a collaboration between Serek Basses and Chicago Music Exchange’s Bassment. Inspired by some of our favorite old-school designs, the Lincoln will feel right at home in your arsenal. A bolt-on maple neck is paired up with a single pickup in the P position for supreme obliteration. The Lincoln has a slim, lightweight, contoured body that belies its immense, cosmic tone. With the Lincoln, you’ll be able to go all night long.”
