Sometimes we make mistakes here at the shop, it happens, we are human. And sometimes those mistakes turn into opportunities to have some fun. I’m gonna go ahead and throw Benny under the bus here: he drilled right-handed side dots in a left-handed neck. He was sorry, I was inspired… If Jimi and Macca could have upside-down headstocks, WHY CAN’T WE??!!
I present to you the SOUTHWESTERN. A right-handed Midwestern bass variant that features an upside headstock laminated with “Sushi Swirl” pickguard material with a matching pickguard. We also took this experimental opportunity to add a 45 degree bevel to the body edges instead of our usual heavy roundover. I am dubbing this “Gem Cut” for the angular, geometric look it gives the body.
This is a one-of-a-kind bass! That is, until Benny makes another mistake…
